- My Sony Clie will not work over USB. How can I get it to work?
Not all Sony Clie devices
can be automatically identified by USBLink. This is a shortcoming in the
Sony Clie device. If your Sony Clie does not work using USBLink, try this
workaround. Create or edit the file called USBLink.ini in the HandShare installation directory. Make sure USBLink.ini contains a [USB] section as follows:
[USB]
Sony=1

- I am having trouble getting HandShare to connect with my PC when I am not using USB, I am trying to
use my wireless network, what is wrong?
Make sure that you have the correct IP address or host name of your PC configured for the active connection and the
Link Through USB box is not checked on the Palm handheld. Many PCs also have a firewall installed on them, this firewall may be blocking your connection from the Palm handheld to the PC. If you are using a firewall you should check it's configuration to make sure that it will not block the port number that HandShare is using. HandShare uses port 6868 by default, this port number can be changed on the Palm handheld by editting the HandShare Connection and on the PC by changing the Options. If you change the port number you must change it on the Palm handheld and also on the PC.

- After I activate HandShare I get one of the following error messages:
"HandShare: SendUSB 1: USB Communication Error" or
"HandShare: SendUSB 1: Timeout".
What am I doing wrong?
The most common cause of this problem is activating HandShare on your handheld device before running the
HandShare program on your PC. HandShare must be running on your PC before you Activate HandShare on the
handheld device. Another possible cause of this problem is a bad hardware connection, check to make
sure that the handheld is securly in the cradle and that the USB cable is connected to your PC.

- I am having trouble getting HandShare to Activate using USB. What might
be wrong?
Only one program at a time can use the handheld's USB connection.
There are several other Palm software programs that communicate
with the PC over USB. Some of these programs put themselves in
the Startup folder and are always running, usually showing up as icons
in your system tray. These other program may interfere with HandShare.
When running HandShare you should close any other programs that may
communicate with your handheld over USB.

- I was running HandShare and my PC got a blue screen of death when I tired to use Pilot Install, what is wrong?
Only one program at a time can communicate with the handheld device over USB. When running HandShare,
no other programs that use USB to communicate with the handheld should be run. If two or more programs
try to communicate with the handheld at the same time the PC will usually either get a fatal Windows error
(blue screen of death) or reboot or just freeze up.
